Howdy is a unique, drop-dead gorgeous dun gelding with chrome, size, and presence to match his movement—the kind you can’t stop watching or want to quit riding. This grandson of Smooth As A Cat is double‑registered AQHA & APHA. He’s exceptionally talented, kind, patient, and a trustworthy teacher and partner. And did we mention he always greets you with a “Howdy” at his stall or even in the pasture!

Howdy is exceptionally gentle and personable. Whether you want a dependable trail horse, an arena partner, or a ranch companion, he fits the bill. He doesn’t need constant tuning—he’s always consistent, even after time off. He mounts curbside and rides bareback. Howdy is as smooth and comfortable as they come. He’s a top pick for new riders who need a solid, safe horse. He has taught several riders to ride and racked up many firsts among them.

He lies down on cue, stands quietly to mount, has excellent ground manners, and loves being pampered. He enjoys people and attention, and his affectionate nature makes him a joy in the barn. He brings laughter!

He and Paje won the High Point Ranch Horse Winner at the APHC Spring Fling. Howdy has proven himself with youth, beginner, and professional riders alike, excelling in Ranch Versatility classes: Trail, Rail, Ranch Riding, Cow horse, Heading, and Heeling. But then enjoys just as much, some leisure rides out on the trails. He is a beautiful mover in all gaits, with an eye‑catching expression and effortless cadence. His smooth transitions, fluid spins, and stops make him a true standout in the show pen. A fun cow horse too, has a lot of eye appeal, works on his hocks, and can hold a tough cow in front of him, down the fence, or circling.

Outside the arena, Howdy is equally impressive. On the trail and ranch, he is trustworthy, sure-footed, and confident over any terrain. You can ride him on a loose rein and enjoy every minute. He’s so smooth you could drink wine or espresso along the way. We’ve taken him on overnight pack trips in the mountains; nothing startles him—not wildlife, bikers, dogs, or unusual sights. On the ranch, Howdy leads the way. Sorting and gathering cattle are fun with him, and he’s a veteran in the branding pen!

Howdy offers even more. He’s a cool, capable head-and-heel horse, with style and a lot of rate. He’s been hauled to many roping’s and is easy to rope and win on!

Whether you want a dependable trail partner, a family-safe horse, or an exceptional gelding to enjoy and succeed with for years, Howdy is that horse. He’s sound, passed sale panel of radiographs, aand is up to date on dental, worming, and farrier care. His great demeanor will win you over!
