Smoothie is the kind of gelding that makes you pause and smile in awe. With undeniable presence and a rare “wow factor,” this double‑registered AQHA/APHA gelding blends world‑class training, proven performance, and an exceptional disposition into one unforgettable package. He is a true “been there, done that” all‑around horse who excels in ranch riding, reining, ranch work, and both remote and city trails. Although he is talented enough for advanced riders, he is also gentle and patient enough for novices. If you enjoy relaxed afternoon rides and a horse that loves one‑on‑one attention, Smoothie is the perfect match.

Easy, Reliable, and Exceptionally Broke,

Smoothie is known in our barn as “Mr. Easy” and “Mr. Make‑You‑Drool,” and for good reason. He is famously simple, safe, and reliable to ride. Recently, he taught our 9‑year‑old niece to ride, demonstrating the confidence and patience he offers young or inexperienced riders. Because his cues are soft and straightforward, he stays consistent even with time off. He carries himself beautifully, lopes with cadence, transitions smoothly, trots with lift, stops willingly, and spins with correctness. As a result, his ride is exactly what his name promises—smooth, comfortable, and highly sought‑after.

Confident on Trails, in Town, and on the Ranch,

Outside the arena, Smoothie is just as enjoyable. He confidently strolls through town for coffee, greeting people with easy charm. On the trail, he is sure‑footed, steady, and trustworthy, which allows you to relax and enjoy the scenery. Whether crossing creeks, climbing hills, or navigating obstacles, he gives you complete peace of mind. Additionally, he has spent countless hours around cow dogs, ATVs, and ranch equipment. He has gathered, sorted, and roped cattle across the deserts of Arizona and the mountains of Montana, always showing natural cow sense and a willing attitude. Because of this, he shines on the ranch and makes your job easier every ride.

Proven Show Record and True Versatility,

Smoothie also brings proven talent to the show pen. He has earned $5,500 in NRHA reining and most recently won the APHA Amateur Ranch on the Rail Stakes, taking home Chrome Cash. Furthermore, he has earned AQHA and APHA points in Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, and Western Rail, giving him true show‑ring versatility with a polished presence and effortless maneuvering.

Elite Pedigree and Exceptional Mind,

Bred to be exceptional, Smoothie is an own son of Not Ruf At All, the $2.5 million sire and Triple Crown Champion known for producing horses with outstanding minds and trainability. Consequently, Smoothie reflects all of these qualities—quiet, kind, consistent, and highly willing under saddle.

A Once‑in‑a‑Lifetime Gelding,

He hauls like a seasoned professional, settles quickly into new environments, and has impeccable ground manners. Whether you want a family horse, a ranch partner, a confident trail mount, or a standout ranch riding competitor, Smoothie is a once‑in‑a‑lifetime gelding ready to make every ride special. He is sound, vetted, and current on dental, worming, and farrier care.
