Horse Description

Spoon sells exclusively March 16th at The Horse Sale at Rancho Rio in our hometown of Wickenburg, Arizona!

If there was a verse in a song to describe “Spoon,” it would be Brooks & Dunn’s hardworking man; “I’m a hard workin’ man I wear a steel hard hat I can ride, rope, hammer and paint. Do things with my hands that most men can’t”. Spoon is a double registered AQHA & APHA and eligible for Chrome Cash. Individuals have about tripped, taking a double look at this impressively built and FANCY palomino gelding with lots of chrome.

A first-class rope horse loaded with talent- Great strided, plenty of run, rate, always has his feet under him, with a fancy handle, and a snappy face! He feels as good as one gets underneath you. Seasoned and hauled to major ropings in the Heading and Heeling, he lets you easily get to the front and rope quickly. Fits a variety of ropers, hauled by 4 different ropers from #4 on up. Also, very promising and talented in the breakaway.  Spoon would scoop up the wins in the ranch horse classes. He is an outstanding mover with good transitions who efficiently performs all maneuvers. He LOOKS the part and demands attention when he presents himself! He can extend his gates and collect with a simple cue, a giant stopper, pretty spins, and lopes gorgeous circles on a draped rein.

A businessman of a horse who really likes to work yet knows how to conserve energy. Whatever you ask of him, he delivers.  A veteran on the ranch, he watches a cow, works gates and rope doctoring, is savvy around cattle and buffalo, and is fun to brand on. Ridden on trails from Montana to Arizona. He has seen and crossed it all; water, logs, bridges, rides alongside bikes, traffic, and dogs running underfoot. He has a tremendous, sure-footed ground-covering walk and picks his way through rocky terrain when riding on the hills or flat country roads.

He is a no-hassle guy trained to use curbside mounts for easy mounting and gets along well with other horses on the road and at home. Spoon is a highly well-trained gelding that is built to last a lifetime. We will continue to enjoy and win on him as long as we can and look forward to seeing who the lucky buyer will be. He is Sound, UTD on worming, dental, and farrier. We proudly welcome you to our Arizona ranch to meet THE “Spoon” at 406-381-2347. He has exceeded all sale grading and vetting, and we are pleased to offer him at the horse sale at Ranch Rio! Spoon in a rarity, we are head over heels for him!
