SMARTCATIN TRADITION "QUESO"

Queso is a beautiful golden palomino that meets you at the gate wanting attention. He is as close as you will get a horse to being like your friendly Golden Lab Retriever in disposition. Queso lopes around like a professional reiner in the arena and really wants to bury his bum in the ground when stopping. In the arena he does team roping on the heeling side and Ranch Scrambles. In the heeling in the team roping I won the Round-up Muley Roping where there was over 200 teams and paying out over $3k just to mention one of his earnings in the roping. In the ranch scrambles I have placed in multiple events and winning one event on him. Queso was used down in Winnemucca, Nevada at the Western States Ranch Rodeo Finals where he was used in the grand entry to carry a flag and compete in the ranch rodeo. He has handled the crowds well with an easy going demeanour.
At home on the ranch Queso has done all aspects of the ranch work. I have used him to sort at the gate at the brandings, splitting the calves from the cows in preparation for branding where he exemplified great cow sense and athletic ability. He really is an adrenaline rush to ride in this position. Queso is good with dragging calves to the fire at nord forks and wrestlers. In the heading and heeling brandings he is good at heel shots and head shots giving you good positioning. The riding at the ranch has given Queso lots of wet saddle pads going through some rough terrain with hills, creeks, bush and rocks. Queso has chased cows, calves and yearlings up loading shoots at shipping time where a good reliable horse is needed and is worth his weight in gold. In the pasture at the ranch Queso has done lots of pasture treats where he has been tied off on and held the rope well. If you are looking for the family trail horse, ranch horse, team roping horse or the ranch scramble horse he does any of these disciplines awesomely!!
