Horse Description

“Pleasant, lovable, and a complete gentleman every day! Tommy is one of our numero-uno geldings here at TPH; and as our first official riding horse in the sale, we know once you spend 5min with him, he will be number one in your heart! You can’t help but fall in love with Tommy. So, a few horses like him, the first one to pop his head out eagerly to say good morning & to put a smile on your face at the end of the day. YOU will immediately be taken by his big-soft-eye & stunning palomino color; he has a show-stopping presence as soon as he steps off the trailer! A no-nonsense kind soul who will fit a lot of riders.

Tommy embodies the spirit of adventure and fearlessness. He fearlessly takes on any trail, no matter how challenging, and easily navigates through the bottomless bogs, steepest mountains, and water crossings. He is easy to put into 4×4 mode, and rock crawls up and down the most treacherous careful nature ensures he never leads you into a precarious situation, making him the ultimate partner for your trail adventures. From sleeping under the stars to fishing for dinner, he has experienced the beauty of nature firsthand. Tommy’s encounters with grizzly bears, mountain lions, moose, and elk showcase his unwavering bravery and resilience.

He is simple and easy to ride; he drops his head and steps into an easy, comfortable gait! He has a beautiful walk, an easy, slow jog, a nice lope, and a good stop. Tommy knows all the maneuvers, including the side pass, rollbacks, backup, and a perfect All-Around Ranch Versatility or trail obstacle show horse.

Tommy is a money-winning and easy to rope on Head & Heel horse with natural rate, lots of run, & fancy move across the pen with a big stop and face. Works for various numbers of ropers.

He is very sure-footed in the rugged mountains of Montana and the deep sands of Arizona. He handles himself well in rough terrain and willingly goes through running water, bogs, thick brush, and heavily wooded areas. Tommy is confident alone but good with a group of horses on the trails. He has never been a horse that needed to be ridden daily. He can sit for a time and ride off the same. Tommy stands quietly to mount and dismount and is trained to do curbside mount. “Tommy is a fantastic, versatile ranch horse suitable for a variety of tasks such as branding, doctoring cattle, gathering, and sorting. He remains composed and patient in all situations, whether tied to the trailer, hitching post, in the arena, or being ponied off of. Tommy is well-behaved for the farrier, clipping, bathing, and more. He is easygoing and hassle-free, getting along well in the pasture and trailer with other horses. He will even greet you at the gate!” We proudly welcome you to our Helena, MT ranch to meet THE “Tommy” at 406-381-2347. He has exceeded all sale grading and vetting, and we are pleased to offer him August 2&3 in Montana! A true Numero-Uno.
