Meet Matteo a jaw dropping, dark Palomino gelding that is as striking as they come — rich golden color with plenty of chrome, strong hip, soft eye, and the kind of presence that turns heads wherever he goes. An own son of Yellow Jersey (LTE of $150k plus) an out of a money earning and producing daughter of Colonels Smoking Gun. Matteo is triple registered in the AQHA, APHA, and the Palomino Horse Breeders of America Registry. He is also enrolled in the NRBC.

Matteo has impeccable confirmation, with substance, bone, and balance, he carries himself with pride and grace and is pure pottery in motion! His stunning looks are only the beginning — this gelding is the full package, training, pedigree, brains, demeanor, and looks. There is nowhere you can fault him.

Matteo has been trained in the reining, ranch riding and shown in the VRH classes. He is also a stellar ranch horse and all around family horse. He is one of the smoothest horses you will ever ver ride in all of his gaits, a fantastic mover, easy transitions, with a lope that feels like you’re floating. His lead changes are easy peasy and his stops are a blast! Matteo has spins that get you noticed everywhere and the best part about him is he is so easy to operate and versatile! He rides amazing in the arena but really shines outside too! Point him at the trail or the mountains, and he’ll take you there with confidence and ease. He’s sure-footed, calm, and experienced in all kinds of terrain, rivers, creeks, steep inclines, or busy roadways, it doesn’t matter to him making him a reliable partner for long days and relaxing rides.

That’s not all! Our 8yr old daughter, Saylor’s favorite pass time is taking Matteo for a strole around English and over some small jumps! Matteo is trained to curbside mount, he will side pass up to any fence, mounting block or a rock out on the trail for you to easily mount. It’s not abnormal to for Saylor to catch Matteo out of the pasture, crawl up the fence and go for a ride after school bareback! She adores this horse as do we all and he takes care of us all!

On the ranch, he’s the one you grab from gathering and sorting to dragging calves, he’s steady and focused with the work ethic to match. He knows what a day’s work means and never steps out of line. He’s handled all the sights, sounds, and surprises that come with ranch life and stays solid through it all. We have also exposed Matteo to gun fire and like everything else he takes it a true gentleman!

Best of all, he’s as kind and gentle as they come. This gelding has a great mind, a willing heart, impeccable manners and a quiet, sweet disposition that makes him a joy to be around. He’s safe and dependable enough for the whole family — whether our little ones are crawling on for a joy ride around home, taking him to a weekend show, or we are using him to doctor cattle, he always takes care of his rider. Always eager to please, always level-headed, and always dependable, he’s truly a one in a million!
